Even though the weather was really chilly during Easter I spent beautiful three days in Budapest, Hungary. The city is full of breathtaking architecture, has more than 30 thermal spas and the second oldest subway in the world (still in use) is there. So you can imagine how tight our program was :)
If you find yourself in Budapest don´t miss a night cruise on the Danube. You will see the whole panorama in the nightlight. I recomend to buy a 24 hours ticket for a boat (Hop On-Hop Off). It costs like 10 USD and you can use the cruise during the day as a regular means of trasport and during the night enjoy the beautiful scenery…
Today I made a small trip to Písek. Písek is a wonderful town in my neigbourhood. It isn´t more than one hour from my town, but I have been here only once when I was a child. It is really shame, so I decided to fix this today. When I woke up it was raining so much that I almost stayed home. But as I found, traveling in this horrible weather has one big advantage: you will meet absolutely no other tourists and the city will be all yours! :)
And for explanation, “Písek” is a czech expresion for sand. And traditionally every summer are made big sand statues ashore the river. They are mostly 3 meters high and it is for me a miracle how they can stand all summer… The littel girl on the 3th picture decided to make her own statue…:)
